Version 2

As with all my Full Stop guides, I changed the font used throughout the text to a dark grey, sans-serif font.

Version 3.0 (PDF/EPUB/Kindle) for 7D Firmware Version 2

2012-08-19 – e-book version 3 update published (PDF, EPUB, Kindle) – The guide is updated to include all the changes and additions of the new 7D Firmware version 2.0.  Various descriptions and explanations throughout the guide are also expanded.  All readers who purchased their guide through Full Stop (dojoklo.com) and E-Junkie were alerted and instructed on how to download the updated guide.  Amazon has been asked to alert all purchasers from Amazon.com about how to download the updated version, although I am not sure if they have done this yet.  Please contact me if you still need the updated guide.

Version 3.1.1A (Apple iTunes) for 7D Firmware Version 2

2012-10-01 – e-book version 3 update (described just above), as published on Apple iTunes/ iBooks.  The guide is updated to include all the changes and additions of the new 7D Firmware version 2.0.  Various descriptions and explanations throughout the guide are also expanded.  All readers who previously purchased earlier versions of the guide from Apple please contact me for an updated guide.

Version 3.2A (Apple iTunes) for 7D Firmware Version 2

2012-11-13 – I discovered that the Apple iTunes version 3.1.1A was missing several images in the Menus and Custom Functions chapter. (Due to an Apple epub conversion limitation, each chapter can only be a certain maximum file size, and too many images will exceed this limit. And thus the “excessive” images in this chapter were simply left out!

If you purchased version 3.1.1A, please let me know if you need me to send you the latest, corrected version: doug(at)dojoklo(dot)com

Version 3.1 EPUB (for 7D Firmware Version 2)

2013-07-11 – Due to a quirk with Nook readers, the EPUB version of the book when viewed on a Nook sometimes showed certain images repeated, with the text displayed over the repeated image. This bug appeared in Nook readers, with the Aldiko reading app, and perhaps with other e-reader apps. This has hopefully been corrected.

Unpublished Note

2013-10-21Do NOT use a cheap, ultra-thin UV filter (or cheap other filter type) on your lenses, particularly the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens, as there may be filter-to-lens contact that can damage the front lens element.  See this article for more info.

  1. Dear Sir,

Having purchased your book through iBooks is it possible for me to upgrade to Ver.3 to get the additional information for the Firmware Ver.2 upgrade.

    Yours sincerely

  2. Hi I believe there is an update to the iBooks version of your amazing 7D Experience publication.

What a fantastic book I have learnt far more from this than the manual and another book on this camera.

Does this update cure the problem of missing text and pictures by any chance?

    Gerry

    1. Hello, yes I just updated the Apple iBooks version of the 7D epub and fixed the missing images issue. I’m not sure if the new version is live on iBooks yet, and whether or not a previous purchaser can download the updated version (so much to keep up with in this ever-changing e-book landscape!)

I will send you the new version of the epub.

I discovered that this issue was caused in the epub conversion – Apple only allows a certain file size limit per chapter. And thus when that limit was reached, the remaining images didn’t get included. I think this only affected the “Menus and Custom Functions” chapter. I apologize for the issue.

  3. I purchased your book from Apple store, and would be interest in the upgrade that covers the firmware information.

  4. Hello, I purchased your book from Apple store, and would be interested in the upgrade that covers the firmware information, too. Thank you for sending and all the best for 2013. Rgds, Jan.

    A very good book

    1. Hello, First, you may be able to update the guide through iTunes. Delete the book from your computer / iPad, and then go to iTunes, log in, search for the book, and download it again (if that option is available without having to purchase it again). This may provide you with the latest version. If that does not work, please email me, and I will send you the latest, updated version of the Apple Epub file.
